2022 Summer Nutrition Club
Site Coordinator Portal
Hello, site coordinators, and welcome to Summer Nutrition Club! We are so excited to have you join us for this adventure of virtual nutrition education, and we hope this page will help you be successful in sharing this program with your families!
Overview
Summer Nutrition Club (SNC) is an innovative program designed to introduce children to nutrition concepts that have the power to transform their long-term health and wellness. Created by Gleaners' experts in nutrition (a dietetics student and a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist), SNC utilizes interactive lesson plans to encourage children to explore new foods and learn about how food fuels their bodies. SNC is intended to complement Gleaners’ summer youth feeding program, which provides Family Meal Boxes to thousands of families in Indianapolis each year. However, we welcome anyone in any place to share and utilize the SNC materials available on this website!
We thank YOU for your willingness to teach our youngest generation about healthy eating. Please let us know if you have any questions, feedback, or concerns.

“[I really liked] the purposefulness of each lesson but simplicity that made it easy for my staff to implement with success, efficiency and effectiveness.” - SNC 2021 Site Coordinator
“I loved how interactive and informative each lesson was for our campers. They were engaged and enjoying themselves each week, and we also loved that they were able to try new foods and take home recipes for these. This was huge for our campers, and I know they enjoyed challenging themselves to get out of their comfort zone to try new things.” - SNC 2019 Site Coordinator
“Summer nutrition and education is so important for our kids today. We live in a world where food has turned into a quick fix, and for most it is not associated with overall mental and physical health. By introducing nutrition and how important it is for us, I hope we can start shifting mindsets in the homes where we serve in the community. Hopefully this program is our kick start in the community to keep challenging our kids to try new foods and encourage parents to learn more about nutrition and how to provide healthy meals to their families.” - SNC 2019 Site Coordinator
